National university of Ireland, Maynooth

The National University of Ireland, Maynooth was founded by the Universities Act, 1997 as a constituent university of the national university of ireland. It is Ireland's second oldest university. It is located at 20 km in the west of Dublin. We can find there two campus , north campus where there is all the student's accomodation and tha mjority of bulding for business, science, engineering, geography ... and the south campus with saint patrick college and all the arts department .Saint patrick college fas founded in 1795 and his now a place to received student's guest. 

Academic staff of this university really care about erasmus student, we received a welcome with two orientations day with the presentation of every main building of the campus, presentation of the library, some teatchers, international society, club and society. They use to received a majority of french, then american and german students.

This university proposes an amaizing number of lectures choice. I choose : entrepreneurship and business idea, leadership and personal development, strategic managment, design thinking, managing in an international environment and innovation managment. Every lectures are 2 hours long. We have a lot of group work and around one essay by month for every lectures ( approximately 4000 words by essay ). So we have to do a considerable work and it is important to don't get caught by the irish atmospher or erasmus feeling to be free and without responsabilities. Lectures are here very interactiv and dynamic, teatchers try always to keep our concentration activ by asking questions, making exercices or test in class. Relationship between teachers and students are very different than in france, they are closer, they knows eatchoser better and share moment together as coffee or lunch.

We are around 50 each times in class, and there is few adult person in my class.

It is hard to lived on the campus if you are not use to noise and dirt because a majority of flat are really messy and irish student enjoy life night almost avery day. The atmospher is really relax and relationship between student are good but for studying it was for me impossible to stay more than one week in this area.

We can enjoy a huge sport center with a lot of different activities ( soccer, basket ball, tennis table, karate, boxe, archery, self defense) and the access to the gym is only 10 euros for one year. A lot of society are also available as philosophy, theater, karma ...

We can find in the campus a lot of different cafeteria as O'bryan or a restaurant in the student union but it is often very expansive. ( around 5 euros a small sandwiches ) . We have also one pub which became the monday night a club in our campus.

The university registered approximately 8,400 students, so Maynooth is really a student city
